V A L E N T I N E’ S . D A Y

I’m embarrassed to admit Valentine’s Day is my favorite holiday…but it is. It has a bad rap as a hallmark holiday for couples filled with flowers, chocolate, pressure, and cheesy cards.  For me  Valentine’s Day is totally different, for me it is a day to celebrate LOVE. A day to reflect on what love means to you. Maybe it’s the love for your significant other, your friends, your family, your pet, anything and everything you’re grateful for, most importantly the love fo yo self!

I wanted to share a few ways to inspire fun on Valentine’s Day for you, whether you are in a relationship or you’re single.

Light some candles because it is time to unwind!  Life goes by fast and it’s important to take time to make yourself feel your best. Give your self a facial at home; a raw honey and cinnamon mask would be perfect for Vday. Take a bubble bath, use a few drops of lavender essential oil, mix some epsom salt in, or even use your favorite bath bomb. Go get a massage, or trade massages with someone special!

Why not stay in and make your favorite meal? I think it is way sexier than going out on one of the busiest nights of the year. You can go to the store and pick out your favorite treats or items you don’t normally grab. You could even go with your sweetheart to pick out what you’d like to make. Go all out, make you or your sweethearts favorite meal!

I love getting creative and making valentines for my loved ones. You can make it as fancy or as basic as you’d like. Write your 10 favorite qualities about your dearest. I think this is way more romantic and thoughtful than buying any card. Most important make yourself a valentine! What are your 10 favorite attributes of yourself?

Try something you’ve never done before! What ever it maybe, try rock climbing, go for that hike you’ve been wanting to go on, go to a ceramics class, go on a picnic, check out that museum you haven’t had the chance to, you could even go skydiving if you’re feeling bold. The options are endless

Since valentines day is all about sharing our love with other people, why not focus a little of that love on ourselves? Buy yourself some flowers and make a beautiful arrangement! Get yourself a gift, something you have been wanting but for whatever reason haven’t. Make yourself feel special, be your own valentine.

A friendly suggestion if I may::

If you are in a relationship, remember to be honest with your loved one. Let them know what it is that will make you happy on Valentine’s Day. Of course it would be nice if they could read your mind and make all your dreams come true!  Unfortunately, we aren’t living in a romantic comedy. Set you and your parter up for success !

Most importantly don’t take it all too seriously it’s just one day.

Let me know what your favorite ways to celebrate are !

Wishing you all the happiest of Valentine’s Day.
